To Brenda Pru we say, "Adieu!"
~Results Show Week 2 QuickCap~

The first DWTS Season 10 Results Show started off with getting right to it by announcing the first safe couple of the night and the first couple in the bottom two (Dun, dun, duuuuun!) And they were:

First Safe Couple - Buzz and Ashley (Yeah, no surprise as the Cloris Leechman crowd will keep Buzz alive for another week or two. Sigh.)

First Couple in the Bottom 2 - Pamela and Damian (Hmm. That was a surprise.)

Len makes some quick comments about the dancing from Monday's performance and then we have an encore performance of Nicole and Derek's Jive. Wow. That girl can kick and she upped the sass level too.

Brooke's Dress was nice I guess (Look kids! The Continental Divide!!) but I didn't care for the color.

There was a special Haiti moment that was touching and then then the pro dancers came out and did a routine choreographed by Michael Jackson's choreographers that totally rocked!

Adam Carrola and his "Between the Mirror Balls" was HI-larious!

Two more couples that were announced as safe were . . . Aiden and Edyta and Niecy and Louis

After the commercial break we had some escapees from the Old Rockers Home in the form of the Beach Boys (with John Stamos). Wow. Were those guys old. And their voices were shot so they practically ruined all their classic songs singing them live. Not even the pro dancers could save that vocal debacle. Sigh. Moving on . . .

"The Len Commandments" was a somewhat clever and amusing segment. (Nicole saying SOMETHING (bleep bleep bleep) about Lenny was wild.) This was followed up by some challenge by the judges for next week's dances.

Still safe were . . . Evan and Anna! . . . Jake and Chelsie! . . . and Nicole and Derick! (All three of these were no surprises.

Macy Dancers (some from Haiti) performed a routine in tribute to those struck by the tragedy in Haiti. This whole segment was powerful.

The segment on what Brook Burke does on the show was actually decent in finding out some of the back stage stuff.

More revelations followed and the ones safe were Erin and Maks and Chad and Cheryl. Then it was revealed that Kate and Tony were safe ( Boo Kate!) and Shannon and Mark along with Pam and Damian were in the Red Light of the bottom two.

And who was the first "star" to get the HOOK for DWTS Season 10? Shannon "Brenda Pru" and Mark.

Shannon admitted she's no dancer and it was just as well since Mark got hurt in rehearsal and would be out for SIX weeks so replacing him with Corky, "Daddy", Ballas would NOT have been good. (The guy creeps me out. I'm tellin' ya).

So that was it for Week 2 and will see you next time for the recaps of Week 3. Will Kate Gosslin get the Hook? One can only hope.

That Ain't No Jive Turkey!
~DWTS Season 10 Week 2 Performance Recap~

We're back for the second fun filled week of Dancing with The Stars Season 10 and it's Performance Week Number TWO!! And tonight's performance scores will be combined with last week's scores and then the team with the lowest scores and/ or lowest votes will get the hook on the Results Show on Tuesday. Won't that be fun!

Brooke informed the television audience that viewership was WAY up then it was on to the Stars Stair Descent (SSD) and a first look at the costumes for the night. Hmm. Okay. Quite the variety. On to the first couple of the night . . .

Shannen "Brenda Pru" Doherty and Mark Ballas were dancing the Jive and after last week Brenda wanted to LOWER the bar for herself for week 2 (Way to reach for the stars there Brenda) Mark said that he won't dumb down the Jive (Cuz Mark is the boy who would be KING so no loser talk Brenda!)

They performed the Jive and I noticed while Shannen danced that she has serious bird legs in the dress she wore. Oh, and though she wasn't horrible, that wasn't the sharpest Jive we've seen on the dance floor. Following the performance she ran to give daddy a post performance kiss. Awwww.

Judges Decisions: Len thought Brenda Pru showed lots of energy but lost control at times and needed to work on finesse. Bruno was liking the Heathers Mean Girl look and said her energy was better but the kicks and flicks needed to be sharper (Called it!). Carrie Ann thought Mark pushing Shannen harder was a good choice but needed to work on musicality.

In the Celebriquarium (Still think its a lame name), Brooke asked Pretty Pru about trust with Mark and blah blah blah Mark said "no risk no rewards" and blah blah blah. Moving on. SCORE: 20 [ 38 out of 60 ]

Soap Star Aiden Turner and Edyta were up next dancing the Foxtrot. In rehearsal, Aiden was struggling with the steps and Edyta was getting REALLY frustrated with Aiden's progress. Aiden told Edyta to either be patient or leave. (Whoa!) Edyta leaves the rehearsal studio and Aiden's like "Dude . . ." (Oh, the drama!) But since this is TV, Aiden decided to man up and dance and they hugged it out and went back to work.

The performance was surprising in that Edyta was actually clothed . . . well as clothed as Edyta can be on DWTS, but what wasn't surprising was Aiden's tentative foxtrot. Of course, being smacked by Edyta's elbow a couple of times during the performance didn't help Aiden's confidence.

Judges Decisions: Bruno said that Aiden showed a glimmer of hope (Really Bruno?) and that there were some good lines but still some problems. Carrie Ann thought Aiden did a nice job but that he's trying too hard and oh, the drama paid off! (Don't encourage them!)

BB made sure to point out Edyta elbowing Aiden during their performance and then Brooke asked Edyta about the pressures of being a pro dancer on DWTS and working with the whiny, huge egoed stars like Aiden. SCORE: 19 [ 34 out of 60 ] (Buck up Edyta you haven't been voted out . . . yet)

And then it was time for Golden Boy himself, Evan Lysacek and his partner Anna. Evan worked on the Jive which Anna said is a "happy dance" for a bit and then it was off to Evan's hometown for a GOLDen celebration for winning the gold medal at the recent Winter Olympics. (Nice segment but how did it pertain to preparing for the Jive??)

Their performance was really good. That boy can DANCE!!

Judges Decisions: Carrie Ann said it was great and that Evan was in control and the connection was there. Lenny commented that Evan overcame the Tall Guy Syndrome and danced well but needs to work on his feet more and don't go wobbly. Bruno thought it was Greased Lightin' but agreed with Len that Evan needs to be careful with his feet.

Back in the Celebriquarium, Brooke found out that Evan likes cheesecake! (Like who doesn't?) and Big Tom tossed out that on this show you see a lot of it (cheesecake that is). SCORE: 24 [ 47 out of 60 ]

Up next was Niecy Nash and her partner Louis Van Amstel dancing the Foxtrot. During rehearsal Niecy started whining to Louis that all his dance instructions sound like Chinese. (Hee! Wouldn't that have been awesome if he REALLY tried to teach her to dance speaking Chinese??) Louis did tell her that she needed to be like a mirror with his moves and she responded by asking when did she become a white man? (snort!)

Niecy is all pretty in pink for the performance. Surprisingly, she showed some nice form and some real grace. Overall, it was a nice routine.

Judges Decisions: Len said it had musicality and a sassy twist and a real revelation from last week. Bruno and Carrie Ann said something nice about the performance but unfortunately I missed it. (Thanks Jamie and Lori. ;7) ) And I still like BB doing the post performance interviews. SCORE: 21 [ 39 out of 60 ]

Pilot Jake "The Bachelor" Pavelka and Chelsie Hightower danced the Jive and Jake admitted in rehearsal that he was acting silly and feeling stupid (Way to be in touch with yourself, dude) Chelsie said that "Jake and I butt heads" and then we saw short clips of Jake almost killing Chelsie with his "stupid" dance moves.

In the performance, Jake danced okay, but his kicks and flicks were not all that sharp and I think he lost the timing there at one point.

Judges Desicions: Bruno pointed out that Jake wants this badly and the energy and determination were great. Carrie Ann caught a LIFT (That's a no, no) but thought the energy was great. Len admitted that the Jive is a tough dance to do and Jake was a bit heavy in the feet.
SCORE: 20 [ out of 60 ]

Then it was Spacecowboy Buzz Aldrin & Ashly Costa dancing the Foxtrot. For rehearsal, Ashly ddiagrammed the routine and that seemed to help Buzz learn the steps easier and Ashley realized that Buzz is not like most of her partners (Yeah, he's older than dirt!) His scary wife visited the rehearsal too. Buzz does work hard and pointed out that he doesn't "lolly gag around."

Ashly's dress was lovely and but Buzz's posture needed to be straighter. His dancing was more of a soft shoe performance but I loved the song selection. Ashley partnered well with Buzz as she didn't over dance.

Judges Decisions: Carrie Ann thought it was very charming and it tugged her heartstrings but the dancing part was trepidations Buzz looked afraid and in their holds Buzz kept standing WAY apart from Ashly. The only thing Len said about Buzz is that he inspires people to dance (Very diplomatic there, Len) and Bruno said the man in the moon looked stuck in the Foxtrot. (Lots of boos for Bruno there).

In the Celebriquarium, Brooke asked Buzz about his showing his scary wife the moves and personally I don't want to hear ANYthing about Buzz's moves in any way, shape, or form. (Seriously!!) SCORE: 12 [ 26 out of 60 ] Nice attitude from Ashley about their scores and chances in this season.

Up next were Nicole Scherzinger and Derek Hough dancing the Jive! And what fascinating fact about Derek did we learn from last week's post performance interview? The dude can't COUNT!! (SNORT!!) In week two, Derek and Nicole are struggling with trying to dance the jive to a contemporary song and its totally freakin' her out. She wants to do well cause she's scared of Len. ( Who isn't?) Then she decided to embrace the song and got. To. Work. And as Nicole said, "That ain't no jive turkey."

And their Performance? Oh. My. Nicole's outfit was um "Edyta" style and they danced to a very different "jive" song. Nicole, however, ripped it up with the jive moves. Kicks, flicks, she did it all. And did it like a pro. Nicely done.

Judges Decision: Len complained that the first 12 bars were not his cup of tea so he wasn't as pleased with it as the rest of us were. (Thank you Mr. Crabbypants) Bruno shouted that it. was. FEE-nominal and a Jive for the 21st century! Carrie Ann - Perfection! She loved it!

Brooke, in the post performance interview, explained that contestants don't choose their music but it's chosen for them. Then Brooke asked Derek who he liked dancing with more - Nicole or Brooke. (Heh, way to put Derek on the spot there, Brooke). SCORE: 28 (TWO 10s on week 2) [ 53 out of 60 ]

ESPN Erin Andrews and Maks did the Foxtrot and in Maks tells Erin to "Channel your inner princess". Next clip? Erin totally belches LOUDLY. (Nice.) Maks is a little bewildered that HE is the calm one in the relationship and asks "when did that happen?" Erin is a FREAK in rehearsal.

Performance time and they danced to a Taylor Swift song (yeah. just deal with it). Erin wore a magical pink dress and looked fairly magical doing the Foxtrot. Maks really complemented her performance

Judges Decisions: Bruno told Erin that she has taken to dance like a duck to water and has natural elegance but to make sure she finished all her movements and then Big Tom cut Bruno off in mid critique.( Oooo!) Carrie Ann said Erin is a beautiful lyrical dancer. Great use of musicality but she looked like holds had a desperation feel to them. Erin said she couldn't find Maks' bicep to hold onto. (Ouch!) Len thought it was generally good. Footwork not as good. Then Lenny ranted that all the celebrities needed to: "Turn up Keep Up and Shut up!" (Truer words were never spoken). SCORE: 23 [ 44 out of 60 ] Maks points out his bicep back in the Celebriquarium and Erin admits she needs to stop complaining and just dance. (Yeah ya whiner!) Big Tom said he wasn't sure Maks' ego will survive this season.

And then we had Marilyn Monroe, err, I meant, Pamela Anderson and Damian doing the Foxtrot. They decided in rehearsal to go more romantic and more old Hollywood. Then we see a clip of a good crash. (At least Damian survived being assaulted by Pam's flotation devices this week)

So Pam, channeling Marilyn Monroe, danced the Foxtrot and though I hated to say it but she totally sold the character and did a cute foxtrot.

Judges Decisions: Big Tom quipped that it was so good a bus load of Kennedys showed up. (Hee!) and Bruno too thought it was well executed . . . and the dancing was good too. Carrie Ann liked how Pamela is able to go from character to character. Rocked the Marilyn Monroe! Lenny said Pam was titivating herself (The look on Big Tom's face was priceless) and she had cheeky charm. Len also said she needed to work on her posture and get her bust away from Damian.

SCORE: 22 [ 43 out of 60] Brooke's question about seeing all the sides of Pamela was great especially when Pamela just looked at the camera and said she thought everyone already had. (Uh, yeah, Striperella! )

Another Foxtrot by Chad 85 and Cheryl followed rPam and in rehearsal we saw that instead of dancing Chad spends all the time flirting with Cheryl. Cherly kept telling him to stop sticking his butt out so much and all Chad could do is act like an 8th grader. Sheesh.

I noticed in the performance that Ocho is TALL and that 's working against him dancing with little Cheryl. He's too stiff and lacked grace.

Judges Decisions: Len found it terrible. It was like the snow in that we 're glad when its all over. Bruno said Chad looked uncomfortable and there was no musicality. Need to reboot and start again. Carrie Ann thought Chad had great potential but that he's thinking too much. Needed to be in the moment. SCORE: 16 [ 34 out of 60] Oh, and Cheryl's dress had a strange front flap that didn't work.

Our last couple of the night was Mommy Kate Gosslin and Tony dancing the Jive. During rehearsal, Tony became frustrated with Kate who was a complete disaster with dancing. Tony is one of the nicest pros in all of DWTS and for Kate to constantly whine and question Tony's teaching ability was UN-believable. (She was worse than won of her sextuplets). It got so bad that we saw a clip of Tony quitting on Kate (OH DRAMA!) and Kate had this distraught look on her face (and totally fake tears) and one wonders how Jon put up with this prima dona nut case for all those years. Again, because its TV were everything HAS to be resolved in 28 to 42 minutes, Tony returned (NOOO TONY! STAY AWAY!!) and apologized and they continued working on their routine

So then they perform and Kate looked like a Vegas Showgirl skank in that outfit and she was a total disaster on the floor. The deer caught in the headlights look on her face several times REALLY impressed the judges I'm sure.

Judges Decisions: Burno lamented that the song they danced to held such fond memories for him until Kate turned into a nightmare. (HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA!) Carrie Ann commended Kate that she made it through the routine. . . but it seriously sucked. Len thought Kate's nerves were breaking her at the moment and will need to come out and go for it. (No, she's going out like a wimp).

Kate's face in the Celebriquarium told the whole story that she has already given up and is a LOSER! (Please TV audience vote her out!) SCORE: 15 [ 31 out of 60 ]

Week Two Performances are done and next up is the FIRST Results show where one of these celebrities will get the ole HOOK and be pulled off the dance floor for good. Check out my Results Show QuickCap coming soon . . .

Shaking Her Wobbly Bits . . .
DWTS Week 1 Recap

Dancing with the Stars Season 10 launched with a quick recap of the past NINE seasons with five years worth of clips boiled down into 3.5 seconds (Ok, WHO was that woman with Big Tom Bergeron? ~Quick Wiki search~ Lisa Canning? She was BEFORE Samantha Davis?? What the . . ) and after nine seasons we were back LIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVE on a NEW set and some other face lifts that we would see throughout the show.

Big Tom was joined with this season's new co-host Brooke Burke who was the mirror ball winner of DWTS Season 7. Brooke looked beautiful but that dress . . . (Oh, look, kids! The Grand Canyon!) Seriously, this show is becoming less and less a "family" show every season. Sigh.

First up was Chad Ochocinco dancing with Cheryl Burke (Yay!) In Rehearsal, Chad 85 put on lip balm and asked Cheryl to feel his lips. (Creepy, Dude!) Cheryl did crack me up with her "You suck, do it AGAIN!"

They performed the Cha Cha and Cheryl looked great in her dress and she's workin' the longer hair this season. Ocho wasn't horrible but needed to stand up straighter cause his shoulders were hunched (Habit from football I'm sure) and he seemed pretty tentative for such a confident guy in rehearsal.

Judges' Decisions: Len took his hat off to Ocho and called him a diamond in the rough. Bruno said he was a HUGE, HUGE, HUGE, HUGE, HUGE, HUGE, untapped talent, and Carrie Ann thought Ocho had a little Somethin, Somethin, goin' on out there but needs work.

Following their performance, we got our first look at the Celebriquarium (Seriously, DWTS?? We're going with that??) where BB and the Grand Canyon would do her interviews with the contestants. Brooke did a good job and think she'll work out MUCH better than Sammy Davis. SCORE: 18

Next up was the "Bad Girl of Beverly Hills" Shannen "Brenda Pru" Doherty and her dance partner Mark "Prince of the Ballroom" Ballas. Shannen told us immediately that she's doing DWTS for her dad (Awww. That is sweet) and Mark told us that he's doing it to win cause he is the boy who would be KING!!

In rehearsal, Shannen does NOT live up to her "bad girl" hype as she's more of a shy baby learning her first steps and may actually break out in hives when they perform cause she is SUCH the stress puppy about performing in front of a LIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVE audience and viewers.

Brenda Pru and Prince Mark danced the Viennese Waltz and Mark looked sharp in his tux while Shannen looked awkward in her dress. Anyway, Brenda was stiff and mechanical in her movements and lacked grace and fluidity. But what did the judges think?

Judges' Decisions: Bruno said that Shannen swung her arms like a primate. (Brenda Pru fans everywhere looked shocked and screamed, "No. he. did-N'T!!) Carrie Ann was impressed that Shannen took on such an ambitious routine but still was rough throughout. Len thought Shannen had ease and elegance and it was well done. (WHAT?!?! Are you off your meds??)

In the Celebriquarium, Brenda Pru weepily interviewed how she did this for her dad and she has SO torched her "bad girl" image. (No drama happin' here folks, move along . . .) SCORE: 18

Erin (ESPN) Andrews and Maksim "Maks" Chmerkovskiy followed them with their Cha Cha and in rehearsal footage we saw that Maks wants Erin to shut it cause his only pleasure is to bitch at people and she's not letting him. (snort!) Maks: "That was perfect" Erin: ~looking at camera~ "Did you get that?" Maks: "Shoosh!"

They performed their Cha Cha and the first thing you couldn't miss, besides the LOUD, frilly, short yellow dress, about ESPN Erin was that the girl's got legs. And she seems tall too. She danced well but her hips need to move more if she is going to really nail the Latin dances.

Judges' Decisions: Carrie Ann was surprised and said Erin's got good moves but still needs work. Len thought she a was funky monkey and it was a great routine but also needs work on straightening her legs. Bruno liked the zest and vitality but agreed with Lenny about the leg being straight. SCORE: 21

Sigh. Now for the shameless promotion of another of Mickey Mouse's shows as we see Jake "The Bachelor" Pavelka meeting his dance pro, Chelsie Hightower, for the first time at an airport . . . by a plane . . . cause Jake's a pilot (Get IT??? Huh?? Didja? Didja?) and they have their very own "rose" ceremony. (pardon me while I go violently retch)

In rehearsal, Jake felt dumb because he's not a great dancer. (You were on The Bachelor and dancing is what you feel dumb about doing?? Seriously?!?!) Chelsey said Jake just needed to take it day by day and dance his heart out. (bleh.)

We cut to the live performance and rose petals were falling (Oh, puh-LEASE!) and Jake had ANOTHER rose for Chelsea as they danced the Viennese Waltz. Chelsey's dress was lovely and Jake looked handsome and unfortunately wasn't completely horrible or anything so he'll probably stick around for a few weeks. Big Tom, always with the quick quip, informed us that DWTS used up its rose petal budget with that number. (Hee!)

Judges' Decisions: Len said that The Bachelor moved very well but needed work on his posture and that his bum kept sticking out in the holds. Bruno commented that Jake needed to calm down and not bash Chelsey about (ouch!) and Carrie Ann was impressed cause they worked the romance into the dance and Jake had a bravado that's easy to watch but needed to work on his posture. SCORE: 20

Niecy Nash and Louis Van Amstel were next dancing the Cha-Cha. Niecy stated that she's a Big Woman and something about Louie being the Ying to her Yang. She informed all of us that she is proud to be a thick grown woman and doesn't want to lose her jiggly parts. Ohhh-kay.

They danced the Cha Cha and she reminded me a bit of Tina Turner in the outfit she wore and the spunky attitude. Not particularly exciting but not bad either.

Judges' Decisions: Bruno commented that Niecy needs to focus more cause it went wrong in places. Carrie Ann thought Niecy's energy was fantastic and she love it. Len thought it was clean, clear, and precise but kinda bland. Big Tom's advice to Niecy regarding the judges comments? "Don't listen to them, they're only the judges." (Heh!)

In the Celebriquarium, Niecy said she dedicated that performance to all the THICK girls everywhere. Good for her. Btw - I liked how BB moved the interviews along. SCORE: 18

And then it was the GOLD medalist men's figure skater himself, Evan Lysacek, and his dance pro Anna "Ms Scarlett" Trebunskaya. (Wow is her hair RED or what?) Evan is known as the "suicide trainer" cause he works. so. HARD. In rehearsal we discovered that Evan isn't used to turning in a different direction and got dizzy and stepped on his own foot. Uh, oh.

Golden Boy and Anna danced the Viennes Waltz and Evan looked really long and slim in his tux while Anna was all silvery and shimmery on the dance floor. Evan was very graceful and fluid which didn't surprise me at all given his figure skating background and his turns were better than most of the women dancing the waltz.

Judges' Decisions: Carrie Ann told Evan that he was GOOD but he needed to watch his toes and needs to make a connection with the audience. Len thought their routine had great artistry and Evan's posture was good but he had clumsy feet and needs more chemistry with Anna. Bruno said something crazy about Evan having the wingspan of a 747 and the grace of a swan so whatever. SCORE: 23

Following probably THE best men's performance of the night is a clip from the Space Station telling Buzz Aldrin good luck in his upcoming performance. (All the conspiracy people out there were saying, "Yeah, right. That was SO from a stage set on Universal Studios.") Thus, the introduction to Buzz "Lightyear" Aldrin and his dance partner Ashly Costa [ Pro dancer from the first three seasons of DWTS ].

Buzz, as history will tell you, is the original moon walker and he's 80 years old, folks. Sigh. Oh, and they have a clip of Buzz's wife and that is one scary lookin lady. Buzz thought Ashly was a "really cute babe" (Ok, I didn't need to hear that.) and Ashly said that Buzz in in great shape for his age but was a little concerned about his ability to remember the routine. Buzz also said he was excited because though "he stepped on the moon, now he would be dancing with the stars."

Buzz took on the Cha Cha and it amounted to walkstep, walkstep, shuffle, walkstep, bouncestep, bouncestep, arm out, bounce step . . . Oy! Kudos to Ashly for NOT over dancing around Buzz like some of the female pros have done in the past. Still, not even Ashly could save this routine. He did look like he was having fun though.

Judges' Decisions: Len commended Buzz for his bravery in doing the show. Bruno said it was like doing the Cha Cha in moon boots. Carrie Ann told Buzz that he inspired a lot of people to get out there and dance. I loved Big Tom's question to Len following Len's comments about Buzz's dancing: "How's that British Space program coming along?" (ZING!)

Back in the Celebriquarium, Brooke respectfully honors Buzz Aldrin and Buzz kept his chin up and was a classy guy. Definitely a great American hero, but definitely not a good dancer. SCORE: 14 (Don't worry, Buzz Lightyear may not make it to the finals or beyond, but he'll probably last for a few weeks IF he creates the Leechman like buzz that will get him the votes from the senior viewers)

And then it was time for Pussycat Doll, Nicole Scherzinger, dancing with Derek Hough. Nicole doesn't think her dance ability with the PCDs will really help her with ballroom dancing but she just hopes that when they dance the Viennese Waltz that they will be Sir Derek and Lady Nicole.

In their performance, Nicole wore a very nice white dress and looked stunning throughout. Elegant. Graceful. Fluid. (Totally this season's RINGER!).

Judges' Decisions: Bruno was astounded at how good it was. Carrie Ann said the bar had been set for the competition. Lenny? Oh, Lenny was not fooled by all the grace and elegance and beauty of the performance. No siree. Look past the facade and the footwork was not there and musicality was off and oh, be quiet Len. (Seriously, I KNOW Len's probably the one judge qualified to make those statements but REALLY?? He thought it was that bad? Sheesh!)

Nicole did say back in the Celebriquarium that ballroom dancing is a far cry from chest pumps and booty drops so . . . . SCORE: 25

The Soap Star, Aiden Turner, was up next with his partner Edyta Sliwinska and in the pre-performance footage I found myself already bored with this guy. He's just another of a long line of past soap stars on this show and wasn't too impressed.

They danced the Cha Cha and Aiden was stiff and had almost no hip action so he's gonna struggle on all the Latin dances. Edyta with the coat didn't fool anyone cause we all knew she was gonna strip it off and have almost nothing on underneath. Big Tom commented on Edyta's attire when he said that "we're one gust away from an FCC fine with that one."

Judges' Decisions: Bruno observed that Aiden was stiff as a plank while Carrie Ann mentioned the lack of hip action. Len was not happy about the performance only having Edyta shaking her wobbly bits about. (HAHAHAHAHA!) SCORE: 15

On to Kate Gosslin and Tony Dovolani. The rumor mill said that Kate was a real prima donna backstage and in rehearsals and is ANYONE surprised?? In rehearsal Tony questioned Kate's really wanting to be on DWTS and Kate assures him that she wants to do it . . . for all the moms, people.

They danced the Viennese Waltz and Kate looked stiff and nervous and posture was not good. And wasn't that a lift at the end? ( Hmm. Are lifts allowed this season? I forget)

Judges Decisions: Len said it lacked fluidity and Kate looked nervous. Bruno thought the technique was terrible. Carrie Ann was impressed with Kate's sweet vulnerability. SCORE: 16

Our last "star" of the night was former Baywatch babe, Pamela Anderson, dancing with new comer Damian Whitewood. In rehearsal, Pam was without makeup and she looked normal which was a nice change. The one funny moment was when Damian's face ran into Pam's personal floatation devices during rehearsal.

Pam was channeling Charo with the ultra short hot pink dress for the Cha Cha performance and though I hate to admit it, she was decent and could be a contender but its too soon to call.

Judges Decisions: Bruno yelled sex, sex, sex, and then said Striperella is back! (Google it and you'll know what he was talking about, folks) Carrie Ann was wanting most to see Pam dance and liked how she was fully engaged. Lenny wasn't impressed and thought overall it was a mess. (I think Lenny must have missed his daily suppository or something.) Oh, and Big Tom acting like a twelve year old standing next to Pamela was a hoot!

Back in the Celebriquarium, it seemed like Pam was all over the place in her interview and wondered if she was on something. SCORE: 21

Well, boys and girls, that wrapped up Week 1 Performances. Next week there will be another performance to score on Monday night and THEN the results show on Tuesday so see ya then and find out who is the FIRST to get the HOOK. And a 5, 6, 7, 8 . . .

DWTS 10 - Just Dance? We'll See . . .

They've recently announced the DWTS Season 10 Cast Lineup so let's take a look shall we?

Aiden Turner dancing with Edyta Sliwinska
Buzz Aldrin dancing with Ashly Costa
Chad Ochocinco dancing with Cheryl Burke
Erin Andrews dancing with Maksim Chmerkovskiy
Evan Lysacek dancing with Anna Trebunskya
Jake Pavelka dancing with Chelsie Hightower
Kate Gosselin dancing with Tony Dovolani
Nicole Scherzinger dancing with Derek Hough
Niecy Nash dancing with Louis Van Amstel
Pamela Anderson dancing with Damian Whitewood
Shannon Doherty dancing with Mark Ballas

Ok, let's break it down starting with the easy slots the DWTS filled for this season:

Football Star - Wide Receiver Chad Ochocinco. Some pro football athletes have done respectably well on this show so he could be a decent male dancing front runner.

Olympic Star - Figure Skater Evan Lysacek fresh from his GOLD MEDAL performance at the Winter Olympics. Typically, Olympians have also done well so hope he doesn't disappoint.

Senior Adult Star - Former Astronaut Buzz "Lightyear" Aldrin will be the designated "grey" hoofer for this season. Sigh. Well, perhaps he can channel the experience of being in zero gravity to try and be light on his feet.

Soap Star - Former All My Children star Aiden Turner who I had no clue who he was until I Wikied him. Meh. Good looking for the ladies but can he dance?

TV Magazine/ Correspondent Star - ESPN Sportscaster Erin Andrews is a blond beauty who could actually be a competitor since according to her background info she was part of The Dazzlers, the Gators basketball dance team.

Reality Stars - We get TWO for the price of one this year:

Jake Pavelka - Recently of The Bachelor, will take flight on the dance floor. Really? Mickey Mouse, err, (cough) ABC just HAS to keep dipping from THAT well? Melissa wasn't enough??? Sigh. Who knows? Maybe pilot boy can really dance and the women folk will enjoy that. Meh.

Kate Gosselin - Oh just great. Once upon a time Jon and Kate and all those kids made eight. Then Jon turned mean, their show lost steam, and Kate now pursues the career scene. Well, as this show has taught us over the past nine seasons is that dancing around the term "star" is what this show does best.

Acting Stars - THREE times the charm this time around boys and girls:

Shannon "Brenda Prue" Doherty - Another former Zipcode gal joins this season's cast and one wonders if Brenda Prue will do better than Jenny from the Zip Garth did during her season and if ole Shannon will be a real handful given her "charming" reputation (snort!).

Pamela Anderson - Uh, yeah . . . juuuuust what we need. More Pam. Obviously, DWTS is workin' hard to draw more of the male viewing audience with this addition to the show.
Niecy Nash - You may recognize this star if you've caught episodes of Reno 911 otherwise . . . I have no real thoughts on her, her ability to dance, or being partnered with Louis Van Amstel so let's just leave it there for now. Oh, she is a comedienne so I guess we can expect some yuks from her rehearsal footage, etc. during her run on the show. We'll see.

Entertainer Star - Pussycat Doll, Nicole Scherzinger, (Oh, puurrrfect. Hmm. I guess, Pam wasn't enough for this season) could be this season's ringer since she DANCES!! for a living, folks. (Yeah, yeah, ballroom, shmallroom, she's a dancer and will be a contender. Nuff said).

Quick Side Note: Brooke Burke was announced as the new co-host joining Big Tom Bergeron this season and I'm actually excited to see if BB can do the job. Seriously, I'm just happy Sammy Mommy exited the show that I almost didn't care who they got to replace her. Still, Brook has had some experience interviewing and such with the different tv shows with which she's been involved during her career AND she was a DWTS winner so hoping she won't miss a step in her new role.

Okay, cliched cast categories filled. CHECK! New female co-host hired. CHECK! Season Premier Scheduled for Monday, March 22nd. CHECK! Show Recaps Ready to Roll the week of March 22nd. CHECK! Looks like they just need to bring up the footlights and cue the music for Season TEN of Dancing With the Stars!
